"If we do things well, we can do good things."
Bioxy believes in giving something back to the communities and industries it serves. We are especially grateful to the men and women that selflessly serve our country in the military. Bioxy management established the Battlefield to the Oilfield Foundation, which provides scholarships to deserving veterans. So far, endowments have been established at Montana Tech and Colorado School of Mines, and the programs have helped 9 veterans with tuition and school expenses.
Bill Maher has over 25 years’ experience in critical power and energy systems. Venturing into the communications field, he held top management positions for GTE, JVA Systems and Tropic Engineering. On May 1, 1989, Bill founded Stationary Power Services, Inc. (SPS), growing the business to $36 million in annual revenues by 1999. In 2002, Bill created SPS’s telecommunications division, and in July 2004 sold that division to ADC Communications to concentrate on SPS’s core business, the design, installation and maintenance of reserve, un-interruptible energy systems. In 2005, Bill founded Reserve Power Systems, Inc. (RPS) and developed and manufactured high tech battery storage systems and power components with the headquarters in Tampa and manufacturing located in Shenzhen, China. In 2007, Bill sold both SPS and RPS to Ultralife Batteries, a NASDAQ-traded corporation. In 2009, he co-founded Resenergy Corporation, which manufactures ceramic proppant for hydraulic fracturing. In 2014, the company imported over 100 million pounds of ceramic proppant from China to the US.
Paul McKay’s education and career has been largely centered on geoscience and engineering technology commercialization. Prior to co-founding Bioxy, Paul co-founded ResEnergy Corporation, a provider of ceramic proppant and frac sand to the upstream oil and gas industry. Prior to ResEnergy, Paul filled several key solutions development roles at ION Geophysical. He also served as an Account General Manager for the software and consulting arm of Halliburton, focusing on International Oil Companies. Paul has a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Mississippi State University, and is a graduate of INSEAD’s Executive Management Programme. He is an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (2013-2014 chair of the committee on reservoir geology and geophysics), the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and the Society of Exploration Geophysicists. Paul also co-founded the ResEnergy Battlefield to the Oilfield Foundation, which provides college and technical training scholarships for veterans. Paul and his wife Jenny have been married for 28 years, and are raising their two sons, Joe and Sam in Littleton, Colorado.
